Free Store

Volunteer at the Free Store from 9:15- 11:45am on Tuesdays to help provide necessary essentials to our unsheltered neighbors. You will be redirected to our Sign Up Genius page when you click ‘Sign Up’.

The Free Store uses a new system that involves two separate jobs:

1. Check-In: Work outside the city hall doors to check in our unsheltered neighbors, take clothing orders, and hand out the bagged clothes once the bag is readied by the volunteers inside.
Safety measures: masks, face shields, and hand sanitizer (all provided by OTM).

2. Bag Assembly: Work inside our storeroom to assemble bags of requested items for the check-in crew to then pass along to our clients.
Safety measures: masks (face shields--optional), hand sanitizer, and a desk that includes a plexiglass front shield (all provided by OTM). No interaction is required with the public beyond other volunteers, and very minimal interaction with the outdoor check-in volunteers.

With our new system in place, our unsheltered friends line up outside the City Hall entrance six feet apart. A security officer is on site each week to help us ensure proper distancing. We will only accept a limited number of customers and ensure each customer is supplied with a mask if needed. Each person is checked in and their needs recorded by a 'check-in' volunteer. The 'bag assembly' volunteers inside receive the order and put together the items for our unsheltered friend.
